According to the Governor, the water fountain, in the past, attracted thousands of fun seekers to the museum, especially during festive periods. However, for the last eight years, it had suffered total lack of maintenance.

The Oshiomhole administration embarked on the project as part of Urban Renewal, but it was suffered neglect under the administration of his successor.

The Governor said he embarked on the inspection tour of the facility to see what could be done in order to put it back to use, for the benefit of Edo people.

“I am here to look at the state of this Water Fountain, built by the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s administration, but abandoned by the previous administration of Godwin Obaseki.

“I remember how beautiful this place was when Oshiomhole was the Governor of Edo State. My coming here is to see how to revive it. We want to clean up this place, so that people can come here for recreation or relaxation.

Governor Okpebholo said the fountain had been abandoned for too long and his administration wants to revive it so that Edo people can visit with their families to have good times during weekdays, weekends and holidays.
