Obi mourns late LP House of Reps Member, Ekene Adams

Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 presidential election, is saddened by the death of a Labour Party Legislator in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams.

Rep. Adams died on Tuesday at the age of 39 years.

Writing on his X handle on Tuesday, the LP standards bearer said:

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, a member of the Labour Party in the House of Representatives from Kaduna State. My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, family, and loved ones. His untimely death at the age of 39 is a tragic loss to the nation.

Adams was until his death, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports

Obi said as Chairman of the House Committee on Sports and Representative of the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Hon. Adams had in his short tenure, made significant contributions to the development of sports in Nigeria. He said the passion and expertise of the departed lawmaker in the field of sports would be greatly missed.

“May God Almighty who called him home at this time, forgive his sins and grant him eternal rest, and grant his family, and all of us, the fortitude to bear his sad irreplaceable loss. May God Almighty protect and bless his family always”, Obi stated.
