Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party(LP) has told Nigerians that the February 25, 2023 elections represents an epochal moment in the life of Nigeria.

In a series on tweets on Monday, Obi, who directed his message specifically to Nigerians who have yet to make up their minds whether or not to vote in the election, said this was no time to sit on the fence.

“This is decision time and everybody must be involved because Nigeria is at a historic junction in her life.

“We are down the stretch with 12 days to go. I have a message for Nigerians, especially those that are sitting on the fence. It is DECISION TIME,” Obi said in the tweets.

Averring that The LP flagbrarer every nation has significant moments in its history when a situation arises, which requires that nation take specific steps that would mark her turning point, he stated  that “Nigeria is at that historical junction at the moment”.

The LP flagbearer stressing that having been clear that Nigeria had fared badly on account of bad leadership, it was now up to Nigerians to save their country as another opportunity may not arise.

“Twelve days from now, we will be called upon to make very hard choices.

“It won’t be about tribe or religion; it won’t be about the traditional sentiments of my turn. It will be about National interest,” he stated.

Declaring that Nigerians have gambled with Nigeria, her destiny and fate of their children, he said the situation must change and that Nigerians must revisit lessons learned and the missed opportunities noting that:

“What Nigeria needs now is a visionary, transformational leader, capable of moving the country in the direction of National Rebirth”.

The former Governor of Anambra State said for a long time Nigerians had placed their collective destiny in the hands of elders who have disappointed.

“For long we trusted the elders. Those of us born after independence must now be allowed to reshape the destiny of the nation”, he said.

Waxing rhetorical, he mused on the type of leadership needed by Nigeria at this time.

He said the moment calls for a new kind of leaders.

“We need leaders who will take full responsibility to protect Nigerian lives, property, and prosperity. That is what Datti(Yusuf Datti Ahmed) and I represent”, he said.

He said that he and Datti have outlined their vision and plans and are now asking Nigerians to give the. the mandate to deliver on them.

Obi said the challenges facing Nigeria-banditry, kidnapping, farmer-herders clashes, millions of children out of school and on the streets, hunger, unemployment, and poverty would become history if Nigerians voted for him as president.
