Breaking: Soludo takes over as Anambra Governor

The reign of Chief Willie Obiano as Governor of Anambra State came to an end today, March 17, 2022 at exactly 9.45 am with the administering of the oath of office on the Governor-elect, Prof. Charles Soludo by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu at the Government House, Awka.

In attendance at the event were Chief Obiano and his wife, Mrs Ebelechukwu, and all the 30 members of the Anambra State House of Assembly.

Prof Soludo who inspected the Guard of Honour mounted by Police and members of the Armed Forces, delivered his inaugural address.

The new governor, who promised to make Anambra proud, said his swearing in should not be cause for celebration but rather for putting in hours for serious work.

“I reported at work for 8:55 and will work for eight hours”, he said.

Promising that he would ensure maximum utilization of the paltry funds of the state in the interest of the people that he would sign an executive order to suspend and revenue contract until further steps are taken in the next three weeks
