Robbers attack bullion van in Delta, steal undisclosed sum of money

In a daring daylight operation in Delta State on Thursday, armed men attacked a bullion van belonging to a commercial bank in Delta State.

The bank owning the money being transported in the bullion van could not be immediatelywas yet to be acertained.

During the operation, which occured along the Otor-Owhe road, the robbers shot repeatedly at the bullion van being escorted by a team of policemen and heading towards the Ughelli-Asaba expressway in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The criminals succeeded in breaking into the vehicle and carting away the money inside.

It was not immediately clesr if there were any casualities even though the windshield of the bullion van was shattered by bullets.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, could not be immediately be reached for comment on the incident.
