21-storey building collapses in Lagos, many trapped in rubble

A 21-storey building under construction in Lagos has collapsed trapping an unspecified number of people mostly construction workers. The building is located off Alexander way, Gerrard Road,Ikoyi, Lagos.

Rescue efforts were yet to commence at the scene at the time of filling this report. A huge crowd had gathered at the scene immediately after the tragic incident as people awaited the arrival of evacuation equipment.
