Saraki takes first step toward presidency, picks PDP presidential nomination form

President of Nigeria’s Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki on Friday made good his decision to run for the office of the President of Nigeria by picking up a nomination form on Friday.

Saraki, who is contesting on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the party he defected to recently from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)obtained the form through Mohammed Wakil, Director-General of his Presidential Campaign Organisation.

The latest move by Saraki was disclosed by Olu Onemola, his Special Assistant on New Media to the Senate President, via a tweet.

“This afternoon, the Director-General of the Saraki Presidential Campaign Organization, Hon. Mohammed Wakil, obtained the Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest forms from the PDP Headquarters on behalf of Presidential Aspirant, Sen. (Dr.) Abubakar Bukola Saraki,” he tweeted.

The collection of the form by Saraki is coming 24 hours after he formally announced his intention to mount a challenge for the presidency of Nigeria.
