BREAKING: President Buhari returns to London Tuesday to see his doctor

President Muhammadu Buhari will return to London, United Kingdom to be examined by his doctor, the Presidency said on Monday.

Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity in a statement on Monday, said President Buhari will depart Nigeria on Tuesday for London where he will spend four days.

“In the course of the technical stop-over for aircraft maintenance in London on his way back from Washington last week, the President had a meeting with his doctor. The Doctor requested the President to return for a meeting which he agreed to do,” the statement said.

The statement President Buhari will return on Saturday, May 12th. Upon his return, he will commence a two-day State Visit to Jigawa State lasting from May 14 to May 15. The visit, which had been scheduled for last week, was postponed to allow for ward congresses of his party, the All Progressives Congress(APC) to hold.

President Buhari has struggled with ill-health since being sworn in as Nigeria’s president in May 2015. In 2017 he spent 150 days in London treating an undisclosed illness.
