Osinbajo in crucial meeting with IGP Idris, DSS boss, AGF Malami

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday met with key officials of the president Muhammadu Buhari administration.

A Presidency source told Newsallround that the meeting centred around the invitation to President of Nigeria’s Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki by the police to explain his relationship with some of the suspects arrested in connection with the April 5 robberies in Offa, Kwara State, which left 33 people dead including nine policemen.

Those said to be at the meeting were the meeting the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris; Director General of the State Security Service, Lawal Daura; and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

Details of the meeting, which began around 3.30 pm are not yet available.

The police on Sunday invited Saraki to appear before it on Monday and the Senate President said he would honour the summons if formally extended to him. There were reports late Sunday evening that President Buhari had given IGP Idris to arrest Saraki in connection with the crime if the need arose.
